Frequently Asked Questions

How do we start this?

Reach out using the form on my contact page. I’ll get back to you by phone or email for a brief conversation about what brings you to therapy, and answer any questions you have about me or the process. From there, we can schedule our first session, either online or in-person.

For TTRPG group therapy, the process is mostly similar. There may be a delay between our conversation and first session, while we wait for space to open up in an existing group, or for other clients to form a new group.

How long are sessions?

Individual sessions are 50 minutes long. TTRPG group sessions run for three hours.

What are your rates?

For individual therapy, the rate is $175/hour.

For TTRPG group therapy, the rate is $50/hour, or $150/session.

I’m not able to offer sliding scale fees, but I can provide documentation for insurance reimbursement.

Do you take insurance?

My practice is out-of-network, meaning I can’t take insurance directly. Instead, I can provide superbills for you to apply for reimbursement from your insurance provider.

How do superbills work?

Most insurance providers will reimburse clients, at least in part, for out-of-network mental health expenses. A superbill is a monthly receipt of costs, which you can use to apply for this reimbursement.

Each plan varies in terms of the maximum, as well as the percentage of total cost, that they will reimburse. If it’s difficult to find this information on your plan, your provider should be able to clarify.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, credit cards, Venmo, PayPal, and Zelle.  If you pay by credit card, there will be a 2.75% convenience fee added to each transaction.

What if we’re not a good fit?

When beginning one’s therapy journey, or changing therapists, it’s not uncommon to have to meet more than one person before it feels right. If we don’t quite connect in terms of personality, scheduling, or fees, then I’ll do my best to help you find a better match.
